Big Wheel Keep On Turnin'
6/27/05 20:22 - email - category: Flow

The train is climbing, metal grinding on metal. I've attached more cars to the engine than I'd realized, but the steam is high and I'm cresting the mountain. Soon it will be downhill acceleration, racing across suspended bridges into strange, uncharted lands.

  • Chris Martinez' (still un-named) audio project - has scaled down and turned into a three song shopping demo. Working on the mastering and a few small edits still, but it's almost done. Ania heads for Poland this Thursday and I'll have a few weeks with nothing else to focus on except cats and music and missing her, so these tracks will be finalized shortly.
  • I've been so creatively successful with my newly-built Max/MSP delay lines they're forming a new foundation of songs for my ongoing ambient project, Sky Break Blue. These are turning into longer, evolving pieces based on overlapping cyclic repetition, found sounds, environments.
  • Over the weekend (between rounds of Max/MSP delay-line patching) I've pulled out the most likely candidate demos to become full-fledged tracks for blueDeceiver. Rhythmic, bass-heavy, instrumental vox and lots of DSP. These are all Live-fests of high degree, but I'm planning on working in a little delay-line madness here, as well.
  • New Daevlmakr site shell is finalized, easily extensible, clean and... white.
  • Some new things coming for 2Second(fuse) too, including a studio tour and return to a more regular update schedule.

I don't, as a general rule of thumb, announce creative projects in their early stages. It's too easy for them to go astray and never see fruition. However, all of the above are moving from the nebulous realms of conceptual talking fuzz to breathing, walking, living terra firma, and at a nice, fast clip.

I'm still in stealth ninja mode, but I think I'm safely across the border.
